We'll Miss You, Houdini
He came to us when we were green
The most handsome rooster we'd seen
Arriving trussed in a sack, Houdini was a most fitting name
It was through him we learned much
More than just chickens and such
As we watched him care for his ladies
He searched for food which went first to each hen
Protected, provided, was a leader to them
A lesson taught in I Timothy chapter five verse eight
We found him where he fought his last fight
A predator came for his hens in the night
We'll miss you terribly, Houdini.

We need to watch and see if the hens are holding a vigil in his honor tonight.
